Rachel Parker

I joined in 2016 with 4 years’ experience but the 7 years I have been with SA have been where my career and skills have developed the most, via progressive training and the opportunity to manage and mentor teams.  In addition to our professional development, is the inclusive culture that each person within the business contributes towards. This setting has enabled me to be a top-biller and AD of 10+ recruiters and is now enabling me to relocate to New York. Here I will be responsible for our East Coast Staffing business — a passion of mine which has now become a reality due to a lot of hard-work, and an incredibly supportive team of fantastic people.

I started at Skills Alliance 4 years ago, and joining the company has changed my life for the better. It was my first job which allowed me to gain lifelong skills both in communication, sales, business development, client strategy. SA has given me opportunities to grow and challenge myself which, now, puts me in a position managing a successful team of 5 people and leading DE&I initiatives both internally and externally. I work with exceptional people both professionally and personally so count myself very lucky to be part of such an exciting and growing organisation who are improving lives globally.

Joining Skills Alliance in July 2019 was one of my biggest career decisions to date and simply a very good one looking back. I joined solo as a Team Lead with the purpose to build out the medical device division and with continuous hard work over the years, the trust and support from all around we’re a team of 11 and as of January 2023 I’m an Associate Director here at Skills Alliance.

When I joined Skills Alliance, there were just six of us; it’s been an incredible journey and a pleasure to be part of the growth that has got us to the position we are in today. I wanted to enter the Life Science market as I knew could it offer a long-term career with achievable progression and means we are able to make a difference within drug development. Becoming a Managing Director within the business has been extremely fulfilling and allowed me to ensure that we continue our organic growth model so that our newest members can reach the same levels of leadership.

Jack Harrison

I joined Skills during the height of the pandemic and things have changed a lot! It has been great to see the business scale and improve into what we see today. I did not plan for a career within Life Sciences, however, knew I wanted to move forward with a sales-based role. I was pulled in from the earning potential and ability to move up the hierarchy swiftly, luckily for me, the science became at the core of why I enjoy my role. The business has supported me from graduate to principal consultant and entrusted me to manage, which was one of the main reasons I wanted to move into this industry.

Mental health

At Skills Alliance, we prioritise the mental well-being and overall happiness of our team members. To support this goal, we have implemented several initiatives designed to promote mental health and help our employees manage the demands of work and home life.

We have two registered Mental Health First Aiders on staff. These individuals have received specialised training in how to recognise and support individuals experiencing mental health issues. They are available to provide support and guidance to team members who may be struggling with their mental health.

We also offer wellness days, during which team members are encouraged to take time off to focus on their physical and mental well-being. We understand that balancing the demands of work and home life can be challenging, so we also offer flexible working arrangements to help our team members find a work-life balance that works for them.

Overall, our goal is to create a positive and supportive work environment where everyone can thrive and perform at their best.
